Postby unfunkable » Fri Feb 27, 2009 1:27 pm

Hi All, Im at work and headig out to the shops after to either buy some DVDs or CDR's to burn music to listen in my car.
But not sure if the my09's are compatible with DVD's?
Does any one know....i hope they are as 700meg cd'rs dont hold much music for a 3 hr trip :( i know i can make multiple cd's, but still...:)

cheers

Not sure if your MY09 plays DVDs or not, but I don't think the standard for DVD players allow DVD-MP3 playback, if anything it will probably only play the first 700MB or so of the disc (like my old in-car DVD player). If your car does play DVDs I dont think Subaru forked out for the extra technology to allow DVD-MP3 compatibility..

This time round, I specifically went out and bought a DVD-MP3 compatible head unit and now have access to 4.7GB of music per disc, its awesome!

EDIT: Dont think Subaru systems are DVD compatible?

Mate, get rid of the McIntosh and get yourself an aftermarket head unit! 4.7GB is an overwhelming amount of music haha but hey, at least you have a 6 stacker for the convenience

Out of curiosity, can you play MP3s on the Mac??

MY07+ Macs play MP3s.

The Macs are CD readers only.

yeah it does play mp3, i forgot about that.
700meg ~ 700mins of music so maybe it isnt too bad.

i used an iphone, but the sound is too low sometimes and if i put it up, it distorts it. i know you can get a headphone amp, but im after cost effective solutions :D

an aftermarket unit is too much for me atm, broke after buying the car
