The mufflers? Please see my post at the top of Page 8. Basically moggy (Bob) will be back tomorrow to do the final fitment. Then it's production time from there. Probably 1 week to produce.

Also if we choose not to buy these mufflers now. Is there an option to get them at a later date after the Group Buy? Or is this a one off?

I've spoken with Phat and this initial batch will be it for a while. Then later in the year he may do another batch if there are 5 or more interested buyers.

Unfortunately not. However Phat has offered to fit the entire thing for $180 for anyone buying the whole system. That's pretty cheap considering my DP alone was about $200 to get fitted.

considering that I'm marked as sitting on the fence will it be a total of 20 mufflers or 19?

if possible i would like to know how much noise it generates in the cabin compared to a completely stock car....

Because I know a lot of people think that this will be a quiet 'near stock' system by putting the stock mufflers onto a high flowing system.

Do a recording Jim. Out of curiosity I would be keen to know what this set up sounds like.

No need for a recording Jim, no burble bit louder than stock and instead of a little back burble/rumble sound you get what sounds like some elf in the muffler hitting it with a stick when you double shuffle

Correct me if I'm wrong here gents... but the reason why you don't is cause the ECU is smart enough to notice the difference in added air flow through the cans and adjust it's own settings to suite.

Is that right?

Possibly a good idea then to reset the ECU?

resetting the ECU will certainly help as it should apparently "re-learn" the car for a couple of days or something. A tune will definitely get the most out of the mod (and with bikes is very advisable when changing exhausts as AFR would be all over the shop - no closed circuit in many the way our cars are).

But it is not absolutely necessary that you get it re-tuned just for the cans. I bet Subaru wouldn't be re-flashing your car were you to sell your firstborn for the STI mufflers
