Private health cover

Postby gumbyy » Thu Feb 05, 2009 10:14 am

Hi Guys,

Pretty odd topic to post on a car forum but I'm sure it's not the oddest.. Are there currently any no wait private health covers available? NIB had a special offer but ended on Jan 31.. HCF are currently waiving 2 & 6 month waiting periods until the end of Feb but it doesn't cover what I need, major dental. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

read the fine print....... i am sure you have.

also most funds will tailor a plan to suit you, if you have got the time to shop around, call them up and tell them what other funds a offereing.

btw i am in the same boat
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

Most places wave the waiting anyway. It's almost expected these days... I mean every month a different company will advertise no waiting etc.

I'm with Medibank & when my Mrs signed up (We don't have the same last name... Yet :P ) they just waved it for her... No advertised specials, no need to ask etc.

Thanks guys

I actually havn't read any fine print as I've been a little busy..

Do you have any recommendations of places I should look into? There are just so many.. Matt do you recommend Medibank?

If you havn't noticed, I'm a health insurance noob. Is the industry prone to ripping people off? I was thinking of simply calling around, telling them my scenario and what I want, and let them recommend the best plans to suit me.. Is there any level of trust that they won't sell me unecessary bells and whistles?

Or am I living in a consumers dreamland, and these things dont happen lol..
