Sure there's body roll and soft suspension but that all makes for the most relaxing and comfortable car I've ever driven!

Sorry, if that post came across as negative.

I was interested to know if your car had developed any rattles/shimmies or such over the time. I have been in some big km taxi's which felt like they had done well into the 7 figure range. I know it isn't a fair comparison, was just wondering if the outback after 11 or 12 years and a pretty big number of km's was a bit loose

Not negative at all; I cant believe it's held up from all the k's and punishment over the years either!!
My parents bought the car as new with me buying it off them early 2006. They got offerred very little as a trade and with the awesome memories we've all had in it I decided to match the dealers offer to at least keep it in the family.

This thing is quiet; no rattles or issues to speak of and that's even when I jump from 05 GT to it...

The front left window somtimes makes a whistling noise due to the frameless doors but the GT does that sometimes as well. Also if you put bad fuel in it there's a real issue with it not wanting to drop back a gear and the power and responsiveness is down; the occassional 98 ron fuel dosage does it wonders.

It's had a new ECU, and struts probably 200k ago; not sure really what else but I plan on reading thru the logbooks tonight over a glass of red and celebrate such a historic event! Ohh I replaced the battery about 80k ago...

It's funny; most people step into there flashy sports car on the weekend; wheras I get out of the GT and into my surfmobile/ relaxo car instead!

Well I had quote a few calls on the Liberty but I know the value of it and of course how to keep these things running for a while so didn't continue with the negotiations as there's no point selling so low..

The Liberty gets babied compared to the Outback so I'm pretty keen to see how many k's I can push in it too and being a turbo it may be a bit more of a challenge..

It's a scientific fact that Subarus date around 5.7 times slower than Holden or Ford models.
