Test drove a 3.0rb

Hey guys, as mentioned in my intro I hope to own a liberty soon and was thinking of going the GT way. However after driving a 3.0 I am quite suprised. Sure they dont have carzy power or anything, but the smoothness of this motor suprised me. I didnt realise how smooth the H6 was. Drove a standard 2.5 straight after it and it felt like a tractor!

So I am definately now looking for either a 3.0RB or a GT. So if any one is selling or knows of any, a point in the right direction would be appreciated. Cheers.

Hey mate, both great cars in their own special way.

Having owned both MY07 models, I gotta say it really comes down to what you want in the car.

Speed, both have it. No doubt.... the 3RB can keep up with a standard GTB easy.

Comfort... on par with each other.

Power delivery... now this is where the major difference is. If you want outright fun, that kick back into the sear feeling. Then the GT is the one for you. However there is still alot of fun to be had with the 3RB too. The engine purs beautifully. Engine note is so sweet with an exhaust. Not many things come close to how the 3RB sounds with some mufflers.

So yeah buddy.. what do you want from the car

Yup, gotta agree with Ralph. Both models are pretty much on par with one another in every aspect. It all comes down to the drive, and what you want from the driveability that best matches your style. When I first looked at the Liberty, I test drove both the GT and 3.0. The GT just suited me better for what I was looking for and my driving style.

i was in the same position as you...... its based on the power delivery your after, both cars have the exact same power output, just 2 very different ways of delivery

Having owned both I have to agree with previous replies. The H6 is super smooth and creates some great music in the process, the GT has the power delivery advantage.

All depends on your on own preference (and perhaps whether you are going down the "mod" path). Can't go wrong with either really!

I agree with what the others have already mentioned, both the GT and the 3.0RB are great cars, but great in different ways.

My first introduction to the brand was a Liberty 2.5 and it didn't take long for me to seek out what else was in the stable so to speak.

When it came to looking for another Liberty I kind of had my mind set
on the GT despite not having ever driven one. But after driving both a GT and a 3.0R it became clear which one was more suited to how and where I driven most often.

hey thanks for the links guys. Definately after a wagon tho, that one in WA is very much something like Im looking for. Wonder if he wants an R1 at all!!
