My06 GT

Postby longhorn2005 » Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:28 am

hi guys,

I have come across a very well maintained MY06GT (and at very reasonable price as well.)

Just wondering is it better for me to consider my07 + or my06 is better car with its 2L engine ?

Cheers

I say go for it! There's little difference between the pre-facelift and post-facelift models besides the engine, audio system, etc. The MY07+ has a bit fatter torque because of the 2.5, but the twin scroll on the MY04-MY06 models is an aggressive beast. But I don't see any disadvantage if you were to get a low km, well maintained MY06.

as Jim said, both are great cars... if you want the trademark scoobi burble go the 2.5. I think the 2.0T is quicker stock, but the 2.5T has more in reserve if you plan to mod

Eitherway, Im sure you wont be disapointed 8)

I have both a 2.0GT and a 2.5 GT

If you like turbo rush, get the 2.0GT.. if you like a "cruiser" then get the 2.5GT.. I find the 2.5GT a very sleepy car compared to the 2.0GT (and before people tell me to mod, the 2.5GT already has an AVO TMIC, HKS Panel Filter & Cat Back exhaust)

I like the description Chris (suff) had. I've owned both the 2.0GT and 2.5GT, and the 2.0GT with it's twin scroll gave a much more aggressive pounce. A very eager car. While the 2.5GT was a solid but less aggressive.

But yes, a few mods for the 2.5GT changes that though. Chris, get a dump pipe baby! That returns that 'aggressive' nature of the car.

The wagon already has that (and more)

Trying very hard not to blow too much on the sedan.

I have my eyes on a 2.5 STI Motor + AVO550 for the wagon at the moment
