MY06 2.5i stock head unit and IPod

Hi everyone. I've got a stock headunit with a chopped antenna wire. Long story short, my car was broken into about 6 months ago and the thief attempted to steal the head unit. He wasn't successfull in his attempt and left the HU in the car on the seat. For some reason he cut the antenna wire, so I haven't had a functioning radio in my car since. I also haven't been able to locate the other end of the antenna wire.

No biggie. I listen to MP3s mostly anyway.

So, recently I decided that I'd like to try integrating my ipod into the HU.

I can't go the RF route due to lack of a radio. I notice the HU has an AUX button, but no aux jack.

I'm wondering if there's some way of integrating the iPod using a direct connection from the iPod to the back of the HU.

can't really give you an answer to your query...I've got the Clarion EA1251 for the MacIntosh....not every one is a fan of that unit due to limited functionality...

not sure what the stock HU would require though....hopefully the others will help out ....

how are you going with the current doom and gloom....

The AUX wires are integrated into one of the big connectors on the back.
The AUX jack is a subaru option, which brings the wires out to a jack in the console unit between the seats.

Hey dude. Current doom and gloom is as before. Thanks for asking. Merry Christmas to everyone here BTW. Been insanely busy with work and haven't been able to attend any meets etc. Lowered the car back in August and haven't touched it since.

The EA1251 is more or less what I'm looking for. I'm not looking for a full-featured set up. To simply pipe music from the iphone to the HU over a direct connection would be enough to make me happy.

Ric, that what I've assumed as well. There's an empty connector on the back of HU. It makes sense to assume that any plug that would connect here would bring in a signal from an auxilliary input.

Does anyone know if the pinout of this connector known?

that's good to hear that you're busy....its a good thing at the moment

you can always get the AUX-IN option accessory from Subaru to make it simple...

hope to see ya at future meets...(not that I attend 100% of the time hahahaha)
