Verso + DP + 3" Centre Pipe + Hitech Quads

Postby CheesyMong » Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:51 am

Finally had all my bits installed today....and then tuned..what can I say WOW

Dyno Sheet reads 228.8HP and 369.2 Nm Torque will post dyno sheet later this week..

Only had a quick drive tonight and the response of the car is awesome no more stutter and smooth all the way to redline.

Exhaust was a bit louder than I thought but I now know what the mean burble sounds like :) will post clip later + pics.

1 strange 1 though my A/F settings from the o2 sensor were way out of whack with the stock maps it was reading 14.9 the whole way through the rev range even at WOT. Apparently this was a major cause of power loss as it was running super lean...I think thats how it was explained went over my head a bit..it is now set to 11.XX (Not sure of the final number) at WOT which has put it back into the normal range. My car was a time bomb at 14.9.

Cheers

Joel

Great results man! Looks like fantastic results that you have to be happy with.

Are running the same DP and centre pipe as Dave, but different mufflers?

Cheers

Correct :) The Phat DP

Need to tweak the mufflers though as they are not quite sitting level, anyone know how easy this is to do?

The AFR reading still has me blown away....

Re: AFR in stock form.

I was speaking to Sean at S&J last week and we wants to install a patch for my ECUTEK that prevents the AFR from drifting up to such numbers. Apparently the ECU allows this and then if it detects pre-ignition it pulls timing (and power) out to compensate.

Sean will install the patch soon to ensure the AFR stays exactly where he wants it.
Michael.

Good work Joel. I was just at ASG this morning and Nik told me about the AFR's which are bloody scary. Interesting to note that my sti ecu was reading a bit high in stock tune (11.8) but no where close to 14's.

Just curious why you made about 10kw less than Dave, as i would have thought with the better flowing mufflers that you would have made more?

Dave has AVO Top Mount and slightly better intake pipe. Thats my guess...Does that sound right?

yes correct, the bigger top mount def makes some difference. Also the sti ecu by all accounts is somewhat different to the standard GT ecu. My intake set up is also somewhat different than Joel's as well. The reality is there is always going to be some differences in kw/Nm #'s because no two engines are exactly the same plus air temperature will vary somewhat. Last tune the ambient temp was around 21 C.

Hi Dave hope you had a good Christmas :)

Question for you with the verso tune the throttle is a lot more responsive as you kmow with 0 lag...But do you notice that when at low speed if you rest your foot on the accelerator like just crusing in peak hour traffic in 1st gear that the car will surge quite a bit to the point of nearly bunny hopping. If I look at the fuel consumption guage thing u can see it flying all over the shop powering up then down over and over again.

I can only put this down to the sensitivity of the accel pedal what do u reckon?

Cheers
