Upgrading Front Brake Set Up?

If you guys are interested in a set of Brembos, I was speaking to my mechanic on another occasion who can organise a full brake upgrade kit, and you'd get change from $4K with secondhand reconditioned Brembo calipers, new rotors, new lines and new pads. Can possibly get them fitted behind stock wheels, too.

It involves using the thin calipers off the Ferrari F40 or the Lotus calipers. It'd cost more as the calipers are harder to come by, but it's possible.

The other option would be to offset the caliper to sit further back. This is how the Brembo Gran Turismo was set up - I had a set lying at home, and they could fit behind the stock wheels fine.

Haha lets not go crazy and say im coming. Its my 1 weekend off for the month and a have a big party the night before. I dont know about 8am as i dont even see that time of the morning during the week when i work.

willwood and elcon make kits that fit.......6pot front and 4 pot rear....both out of the US, so they a not cheap, with the shit dollar

the GTB spokes have next to no clearance.

somethign lie 48mm from the face.

even the i rims had better clearence.. somehting like 53mm



the prodrives i had could clear the 328 stop tech calipers with a 3mm wheel spacer... and they were only 17"

I got my fronts done at STi in Docklands with braided lines and endless pads for just over $3K. Can't remember exact price. That is, brembo calipers, new rotors, braided lines, endless pads, fitted. The only place that came close was race brakes in North Melbourne who would do a set of AP calipers for about $300 more. I wanted stock look however.

My only recommendation is to upgrade the rotors to a set of DBA4000s. The stock solid rotors would gum up with resin and start to shudder. No such probs with the DBAs as they have wiper slots. Also, I have in the last 5000Kms upgraded my pads to Endless CCAs which are farking awesome !!!! Only problem is they bloody squeel at slow speed when coming to a stop. Using a high pressure wash keeps them subdued for a week or so.

Overall I am very happy with the setup.

Well, turns out my (now old) Bridgestone wheels at 18x7.5 +48 is only 1-2mm clearance short of the Brembo calipers (i.e. it'd spin just slightly but would still get caught on the caliper). I'm impressed for something that's +48... similar clearance to my (now new) G-Games 77M +42 clearance with a 3mm spacer.
