Postby Tiu » Mon Dec 08, 2008 3:49 pm

:D Hey guys, had a little front end accident. It will be getting fixed soon, but since i will be getting the stock bumper + bonnet, i thought why not go aftermarket, or something different

well, i got a few questions that i wanna ask, well first of all, i have a 2006 liberty 2.0R, that limited edition one. does bonnet from GT model fits in? also what recommendation of bumpers would you guys have?? :P thanks for the help!

I got a JDM OEM Spec.B front bar for mine.

The GT bonnet should fit fine.

theres nothing wrong with a GT bonnet on a N/A car-
i mean, how many AU falcons do you see with a BA XR8 Bonnet, or altezza lights on lancers, VX rims on VLs, the list is endless

its a great cosmetic enhancement; and if i had a reason to change my bonnet - i would be going the GT bonnet also :)

and seriously, to the average person - they wouldnt even know if ur car is a GT or not.

There's pretty much nothing externally that really distinguishes the GT from the poverty-spec Liberties.

Theres a green Impreza RS rockin a massive STi wing, WRX bonnet, stock RS rims and a tiny factory Impreza muffler that cruises my area. Do you think he looks cool?

You have mentioned a whole bunch of cosmetic mods - dont get me wrong im all for cosmetic mods and individuality, but the GT bonnet is functional. To the OP, if you want a GT bonnet then more power to ya matey.. but I'm just saying be prepared to tell people "er its N/A" when they ask if its a GT, or are you going to let them believe it is one? When I see an Impreza RS/Civic/Excel with a non-functional scoop, I think they're posers.

I got it shipped here from Japan, secondhand. Be prepared to spend a lot more than expected on this mod, you need new foglights and fog light mounts as the existing ones aren't going to fit. I don't have part numbers, sorry, but don't expect to be spending under $1000 if you want to do it right.

i'm not planning to install the foggies on it  even on the previous front bar, i took out the foggies because i have a flatt racing intake that side in the right side behind the foggies.

and it kinda looked weird with foggies on one side n not another so i took it out. is it possible to get these kinda parts from aus dealers?

Possibly, Subaru can probably order it in, being an original part and all. Just need the part number - which I don't have, sorry :P you'll have to check on legacygt.com for the part number.

Its got nothing to do with being cool - its a personal preference- and as you mentioned its "individuality"
The difference with the Civic/ Excel is that they never came out with a standard bonnet scoop, like the Liberty GT

and as for telling people its a N/A, firstly people wont even ask, and secondly Most people arnt even aware of a Liberty Turbo.
