Scratches

Whats the best way to remove scratches from the car? Say if you left your car at the parking lot and came back and looks like someone opened up their door into yours?

Lots of variables... you haven't given us much to work with.

Is it just some paint transfer from their car to yours, is yours scratched, or is it chipped (ie you can see undercoat/metal)? Is it dinted as well?

If it's just a bit of paint, a polish should get rid of it. If it's scratched, a light cut might tidy it up. If it's chipped or the scratch is bad, you'll need touch-up paint. If it's dinted too, then depending on where the dint is you might get away with having a paintless dent removal company sort it out, otherwise some panel beating is in order, or even sand/etch/bog/primer/paint depending on how fastidious you are.

Hmm ill take a photo when I get home, but it looks to be just a lil paint transfered on the drivers side door.

If it's paint transferred to yours, then you should be able to buff it out with minimal damage to your car.

as long as there is no paint removed or transfer it should be able to be buffed off.

otherwise blacknwhite or brendan225 would be best guys to comment On this stuff!

btw... is there going to be a group paint touch up day coming up soon? or does anyone know of any mobile touch up guys?

Some McClown recently removed the 2 thin lines of paint of the front right corner of my front bar. No damage. Just paint removed.

Where do you get touch up pain to match?

It just $hits me when crap like that happens. When other people scratch your car through their lack of care/competence/sense of balance. Seriously... I don't go around scratching their children, so they should give my *&@#&$ car some respect!

I once came back from a shift working at coles and some (@#)&$ deadbeat had left a shopping trolley resting against the front of my Silvia's bumper... I coulda trolley-poled the @$$(@&$!

Sorry about my obscene language... just touched a nerve there, lol. My week old Lib already has a scratch on the bonnet too from some dipwad in the shopping center car park

Scratch? Buff it out? I wish!!!

Some f*&#wit has opened their door so hard into the side of the wagon that they've gouged the panel - an area about 1cm square - dinged and scratched right down to bare metal.

Looks like I'm up for a fill and respray to fix it.

A week? ha! I had my previous car (black 2.5i MY06, 13 km on clock!!) little more than 4 days and some ar$ehole put his door into mine so hard it dented the door line/crease thing about 5mm!!!

First brand new car I'd ever bought too! :evil:
