Make New Friends But Keep The Old...

Postby swingn » Wed Dec 03, 2008 1:35 pm

Make new friends, but keep the old... One is silver & the others gold :P I always liked that line from Futurama

Hi All

Thought I'd wack the Prodrives on today. Figured I'd wait until after Christmas (& all the bills that come along with the silly season) until I get the rims powder coated.

I really think these rims in black or in a charcoal metallic will look the goods. But at the moment, I've got a little more bling then I would like.

Personally, the gold does look better the I thought it would on a silver car, but really not my style. Still trying to get used to seeing my car with such bright rims

Anyway, here's a few pics I took:

My powder coated Spec B rims are officially off my car & ready to go to a new home - http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?t=3705

Wow, transforms the whole car and makes it look so different! The wagon looks more like a JDM track car now.

Mmm, silver + gold. Reminds me of the killer duo in the anime Golgo 13. :D

yep I like the silver / gold combo and those wheels are pure porn. I had crystal grey metallic and gold sti rim combo on my 06 STI and really liked them. Good work on the porka too! Who gets to drive that may I ask?

I'm actually supprised people like the colour!? I don't think the gold is "bad", but I do think it would look much better on a white or black car.

Early next year I'll get them powder coated black or gun metal again, that would be more my style 8)

The 911 C4S is my Dad's (Bastard!). Get to drive it sometimes, but generally it's on skid pan days... He's been trying to get me to go to the track, but since we both work in the same place, it's hard for both of us to be out of the office during the week. Let me just say, it's sh!t's all over any other car I've driven through Nasho  :P

As the spokes don't come right to the very edge of the rim, it does appear to be a little smaller then the Spec B's. That's one thing I really loved about the Spec B rims, they looked nice & big on the pre-face lifted Gen 4's.

If you get them coated charcoal, don't do them as dark as your Spec.B wheels are.

I reckon it looks nice mate. I do agree that they don't work perfectly with the silver but prefer them over the old wheels you had.

Don't bother powder coating them, Brembo that shit

Love your Futurama quotes.

"Oh, no room for Bender, huh? Fine! I'll go build my own lunar lander, with blackjack, and hookers. In fact, forget the lunar lander and the blackjack. Ahh, screw the whole thing!"

i would suggest that you give it a few weeks and see if they grow on you...

if they do, keep the orginal color.

else, no harm waiting a few weeks before you get them powder coated...
