Grill options for a MY06 GT

Postby mattson » Mon Dec 01, 2008 7:52 am

Hi All,

I'm looking for a Grill option for the wifes MY06 Lib GT that deletes the chrome wings either side of the subaru badge, but retains the badge or the ability to fit one... as she wants pink up front... (I personally like it a little below the waist, but that's just me ;) )

Anyways... I saw 1 grill that I liked from a car for sale on car sales, but before I could copy the picture and save it - the car had been sold... :(

I'm going to email the dealers and ask if they still have the pictures on file, but either way does anyone know of any options??

I want a look similar to the current GT, all mesh, badge in the middle and that "RRRRR" look :)

Cheers,

Matt

The MY04-MY06 models came with a factory optional upgrade that sees a mesh grill with the Subaru logo in the middle. The surrounds were body colour.

There were a lot of people on here that had it because eBay had it on sale for like $100. Haven't seen them on sale on eBay for a long time now, and I'm not sure if Subaru sells them anymore.

But yeah, you could always slap on pink bits in the mesh area as some have done.

The grille Aveena has to pretty much the same as the Subaru sports grille option (Very slight differences).

It's a good option IMO & potencially might be a good cheap option to go for if Subaru Australia has any left in stock pre AUD crash.

Yes, some of us have names for our cars (IE - Mine is WASABI)... But others have, well, more creative names with more creative back grounds :P

Mmm, yes. Creative names. :D But the point is mattson should be searching for the Subaru sports grill as it's the only grill that comes with the mesh and Subaru emblem attached.

well, I'm one step closer, I have a genuine part number.

J1010AG001TE (TE Being the colour code for Brilliant Silver)

Now I just need to find some where that sells it.

According to an old thread, the price RRP from $ubaru was $590... ouch

see if I can find it cheaper.

Thanks for all your help and the back story.

That price is actually not too bad mate.

Bottomline is that with the dollar being so low against the Yen & USD, everything is really really really expensive.

Infact, in some cases, Subaru Australia is now a cheaper option then getting them from places like Japanparts.com etc.

Mano, unless people get the front bumper from the same kit as well, I don't think that grill will fit on a factory bumper.
