2007 Subaru legacy gt tuned by sti Cruise control part no

Postby Newtosubaru07 » Tue Jul 08, 2025 4:38 pm

Hi there everyone. I have just got a Subaru legacy gt tuned by sti ,gen 4, 2007 model, facelift, imported and wasn't aware that there's no Cruise control on the steering wheel.
Would anyone be able to tell me the part number or a vin so I can get the correct part since subaru won't help without an Australian vin.
Sorry if I left anything out im a complete newbie to subaru and this forum
Thanks in advance

Just buy a used complete my07-09 steering wheel, as you’ll also get the first part of the harness, that connects to the clock spring.

Or buy the right hand (and left) swc, preferably the black paint version as found on g3 GR GH Impreza.

From the first post in the first hit: black steering wheel control pods: 83154YC060

As for actually enabling & using the feature, I’d have to research that aspect here:

Regarding part numbers, pinouts etc, see this guide:

Thanks for the reply. I have got a hold of a 4 pin break switch and have allready installed the steeringwheel controls. I now am trying to figure out how to run the 4 pin break switch to the correct pins on the ecu as mine dosent have the harness tucked away under the wheel like the earlier legacys (pre face do I think) . I have the jdm facelift 2007 ej20x legacy wagon
Turning out to be harder than I thought unfortunately.

Can you find an install guide for Jdm late term, eg on NZ forums or maybe UK legacy?

You might run additional wires or pull the relevant harness from an AUDM wreck with cruise.

I found a Postfl/Exiga install guide here, the trick might be to have a thorough look for the 4pin plug, it will be tightly taped up out of the way…
As per this post: https://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index. ... ent-539565

Install guide:
https://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index. ... ent-539938

Can be a no bueno on my07 apparently, gotta run the 2 extra wires, install a spare pin (in the relevant ecu plug as it’s unpopulated) info follows here:

Hmm, there is a small chance I missed the 4 pin plug... I will have a look again after work, cheers I didn't think of looking for the audm cruise wiring harness and fit it to mine... for the service manual I have looked around for a 2007 2.0 gt spec b jdm but to no luck, (assuming its the same as the tuned by sti version).
would you think it would be the same as the 2.0 gt spec b audm version? I know in australia they stopped the 2.0 version in 06 i beleive whereas in japan it went through to 09.if it is the same i would just look for a gt spec b 06 as that will surley be easier to track down.
Again, im new to subie life so correct me if you see any mistakes on my side of things. And thanks for the info its appreciated :)

Here are some English OEM 83151AG02A9E part numbers for the cruise control switch (steering column stalk) for a 2007 Subaru Legacy

Jdm FSM is available in html form, you’ll need to open it in a browser on pc and use a translate camera app on your phone to navigate it: https://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru/L ... back/2007/

Or have the general market and Jdm FSM open at the same time on seperate pages.

Let me know if it’s too hard, I could help out.

Thanks for the reply, I don't have a pc
I have looked at the link you sent but the 2007 user manual on there References cruise control on the lever whereas mines the steering wheel controls....
Did I miss a section where it goes over the wiring for cruise control?
Thanks again for you help!
