Well... forgive me Club Liberty for I have sinned,
since my last post life has gotten a little crazy, for those who saw me on facebook I shot a Brembo through my rear passenger TBSTI wheel, Copped a defect, Bought another Lib, and bought a BRZ.
Brembos were fitted by a somewhat reputable shop that claimed they had done it before, didn't want to do my own brakes for this very reason and had nothing but problems with them since the install. They leaked from day dot and that should of been the indication to go and take it to someone else instead of taking it back time after time to get it fixed.
The defect is the real problem...
I was defected for having a wet oil pan, bald tyre (singular), and exhaust to comply (no name genome turbo back with questionable cat components. Fair enough it did have an oil leak, my lazy ass replaced the valve rocker covers and didn't do a good job cleaning it all up. The tyre had me really salty had a full sized spare in the car and offered to change it over but I received a Red Sticker defect for that and told that I am unable to change it. Yeah fair enough, pain in the ass but I can get a proper exhaust, clean my sump up, and buy new tyres right? unfortunately not. My defect has the wrong vin, right rego, wrong name and drivers license number, right time and date. Took it in to get it cleared and was told by every shop "Yeah I'm not touching that," fair enough so I got in contact with the cops asking how this can be fixed, they said the only way that they'll correct the issues with the defect is to attend the mechanics as they clear my defect and sign off on it, unsurprisingly no mechanic I talked to was interested in this option. Spoke with the RTA and they said I'm SOL only other option is to do a blue slip.
Contacted LECC, wrote a letter to complain about how botched the paperwork was and got no response. Hounded the local area commander only to be told that they're not required to reply to complaints and the defect is correct despite the wrong information recorded on the paperwork. Then received a letter in the mail asking for the number plates back and once I handed them in I was told that I have no leg to stand on as the rego was cancelled and It's not a police matter. Great
Bought a BRZ as I needed a car and the cop that defected me was my neighbour and I was growing tired of the marked HWP car sitting at the end of my street and I was getting pulled over near daily for RBT's. Threatened legal action and launched a new complaint for harassment and then overnight I was left alone by Highway Patrol, They'd take the car in front of me and the car behind me into RBT's but i'd be waved through and I haven't had a breath test since so go figure.
Seeing as my high KM auto shell needed a blue slip I bought a 250,XXX KM 2008 GTB 6MT as a donor shell and I am currently in the process of stripping my auto and transplanting everything over into the new manual shell. Went and bought a metric ton of aftermarket parts and opened fire with the parts cannon;

Basically spent the past 6 months buying up everything I thought looked nice on facebook marketplace and this weekend hopefully I strip my auto lib apart and turn it into a rolling shell to send to scrap. Plan is to build for handling and I would like 250KW but I would be happy with whatever it puts down before I put a build motor in, I was going to just do Head Studs, Head Gaskets, and a full seal kit on my 408,901KM motor. The Manual Shell I bought was a Club lib member car, it has receipts for a tune so I'll have to see if I can find the basemap ROM for a 2008 GTB 6MT. Got the local glassy coming to pull out the quarter windows and the plan is to take everything out of it and fill it with old parts for the scrappy. Never got around to finishing the motor build, Pistons, block, heads, rods, and crank are still sitting in boxes in the garage looking at me funny. Hopefully I've got everything I need to make one nice lib out of two, fingers crossed the manual one passes a blue slip. Not to anyones surprise but the place that passed my auto and did my brembos has since lost the ability to do blue slips and roadworthys all together since. Updates to come, I will be stripping both cars down to the shells so any advice on what I should do "While I'm in there" will be taken, looking at a quick rack but not sure if my very injured bank account will be happy.
