Subaru recalls late model turbocharged cars

Update City Subaru called me this afternoon to tell me the brackets for the turbo oil line fix have arrived, LOL.

I did one of these recalls today on an 07 Liberty GT. Only needed an inspection and a bracket added. Took about 20 mins.

Not looking forward to having to replace a pipe though. Looks like a bastard of a job as the oil pipe is routed underneath the intake manifold.

It's about a 2.5 hour job. Should be ok once I've done a couple. I don't really expect to have to do many pipe replacements though as we are a small dealership and haven't sold too many turbo subaru's.

When I had mine replaced, they ended up taking the car overnight because of the time that it took to get the old pipe out and put the new one in.

Had mine done today with it's 25,000k service, just need a bracket.

Mine being a Jan 08 build, I chased Docklands, and they advised mine is not in the list.....

The first I heard of this was yesterday when I rang to book my car in for a service. So it's being done then. (MY07 Lib GT-B)

While it's there, it'll be getting a full set of NEO juices (eng, g/b, diff), some DBA4000 slotted up front and some 5DOT1 or 600 grade brake fluid. Should stop a little better and rev a bit freer after that lot. Then I can worry about some real mods.

Just had a 12,500km service done.
The dealer confirmed ours was not under recall.
The vehicle has a 04/2008 build date, but I suspect the donor vehicle actually arrived in Oz in 12/2007.
