Subaru recalls late model turbocharged cars

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Hey all. I work at a Subaru Dealership in SA. We recieved notification of this recall the other day. The effected vehicles are as follows:

*2007MY - 2008 MY Liberty GT, Liberty GT Spec. B and Liberty GT Spec. B tuned by STI.
*2008MY Impreza WRX (Not including STI models)
*2009 MY Forester XT ( early models only)

Owners of effected vehicles should receive a letter shortly with all the information. The recall in most cases will only involve installing a securing bracket ofr the pipe which should take around 1/2 an hour. If it is found that there are any cracks in the pipe, or that the pipe is misaligned it will need to be replaced. This will take an extra 2.5 hours to complete.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Just called City Subaru regarding the turbo oil pipe recall letter I received. Their instructions in the letter where as follows:

What should you do?

"You should contact you (sic) Subaru Retailer as soon as possible and arrange an appointment to have repair performed at no cost to you. "

So I just spoke to a really helpful young bloke in their service dept. He tells with embarrassment that they can't book any cars in yet as they don't have the brackets for this fix yet!!!! Tells me Subaru sent the letters out too soon!
He was laughing and saw the irony, believe me! Told him I would inspect my own car now before it burned to the ground and send Subaru the bill for it.

I am not relying on the Subaru service team to save my car or my arse from burning down but I would mind if my vf46 suffered a death.
