Car. What to look for on Lib's...

Postby RXWAG » Thu Nov 06, 2008 3:06 pm

G'day

I'm going to check out a Liberty MY06 Safety pack this weekend (wagon of course), link to the car is at the bottom of the page....

I have spoken to the fella and let him know I'm coming up....

Few things are a little off -

1. Its 2nd owner and it only has 35k on the clock
2. He has told me it has had the front bumper, drivers side headlight and drivers side front guard replaced. Does this mean it's not worth looking at? What should I look for? Is it true parts have numbers that match the vehicles ID?

Has anyone seen this car, or know anything about it? Help would be much appreciated...(It has 20's on it but they aren't my style at all, he has original wheels so they will be going back on if its worth buying)

PS I hope no one reads this jumps in and buys it before I get my chace to check it out

Mother in-law just got a MY06 sedan with around 28k on the clock for a very similar price in QLD. There are always some low km cars out there which always helps when your buying a 2nd hand car.

Sounds like he's had a bit of an accident (Obviously). I'd get the car checked out by NRMA or something like that to investigate what has happened to the car. If it's only cosmetic damage, you'll be sweet. But anything worse it would be best to stay away from it IMO.

I'm no expert that's for sure, but if you want to meet up & get a 2nd opinion I'll be happy to help :D

I also know a good place to do a NRMA inspection (NRMA don't do mobile inspections anymore BTW) - Guy is a Subaru driver & knows his way around Liberty's... He's in the Shire also.
