Hi guys.I am about to get some tints put on my front windows as they didn't come tinted and also wanted to get the rears done a little darker.Has anyone had the back windows done? What percent film goes over the back to match the fronts if i was going to get them a little darker than legal? Is the legal 35%and whats the next below that?

Get the "privacy" tint removed and get 18% done.

I have 18% with the factory 2% in the glass, we measured it at 16%.

No it's not legal, but I wouldn't worry too much about being legal as cops rarely defect for this now, because they don't have a light meter, and privacy tint is so dark anyways.

The tint is great during the day, but you can still see at night, unlike some others which are just plain dangerous.

Rob at Hunters Hill Tinting did mine, $220 or so, and awesome job.

Can you get this removed?? I didn't think you could... I thought it was part of the glass colour...

It's got this dark brown colour to it... we tried to match it before but it couldn't be 100%

Hi guys,

Got my Car tinted, a few months ago in ACT. I was asked if the car currently has window tint, so it can be removed before a new film is placed on, but will cost you a little extra for removal.

Keen to see the final result on your's Tru. Are you also doing the sunroof?

I'm pretty keen to get mine re-done also as I have a few scratches in the tint for carrying gear in the boot... Plus it'll get Mano off my case

good luck trying to remove the privacy tint......... its baked into the glass

i have 20% on the front and have had 35% on the rear window, the rear really stands out once you get the fronts done. the match is pretty close

the guy that did my tinting refused to do my sunroof, he has seen them crack when tinted.
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

Nah, not tinting the sunroof, leaving as is.

Can't book it in for Saturday now, will have to wait for next week.

Got some other goodies being done and the Option guys were pretty booked out already.
