Car Washing Recommendation

Postby GTSPECB STI » Mon Nov 03, 2008 5:22 pm

I am sure there are plenty of threads started on washing, waxing products for your car but has anyone tired using Rain Water for rinsing? I recently bough a house and the previous owner had installed a rain water tank. Well yesterday a mate and I washed our cars using mains water and our normal cleaning products but filled buckets from the rain water tank to do all the rinsing. The result was amazing and it reduced the time it took to the job by at least 50%. The water just comes straight off the car including any soap and dirt that is left. All I can say is that the best mod I have ever seen for washing is the rain tank. :D

There's an inline filter you can get from the uk which is supposed to soften water to.. Aquagleam I think it's called. My detailer recommended getting one if I'm planning to use a rain water system to wash the car.

Bunnings currently have a 500lt tank on special for $79 including a tap! Bargain!
