So today was the day the car went on the rolling road and I'm pleased to say I was able to drive home which was great.
After Duncan spent a bit of time making a few adjustments and a few low level test runs this was the first result. :rock: This figure equates to 300 whp.
I was over the moon to see this straight off and boost just below 1 bar at 12 psi.
So a few more runs were made with Duncan obviously making a few changes. The first thing that became clear that at 5600 rpm the MAf value was maxed out at 300. This means we had so much air passing through the MAF it was off the scale and unable to give the correct data for fueling. You can see on the AFR line it just bottoms out.
Duncan re-scaled the MAF but to no avail as we had run out of fuel pump!!!
So basically we had to much air and not enough fuel :whistling: which meant we were not going to get any further. Duncan turned it down to the 416 bhp figure to keep the motor safe and with strict instructions to me to not go above 5600 rpm.
Pretty confident that the injectors are not the limiting factor as they are the 550 sti pinks, so I need to fit a bigger fuel pump (we thought we might run out) probably go for the DW300c over the DW65c already fitted. Also the other item which came to light is that the intake temp is hitting 120c at these higher boost levels so may need to think about re-organising the charge cooler to get the MAF after the cooler. What I could do with is an easy way of measuring the air temp after the charge cooler to see what the differential is across the cooler.
Overall very happy with the progress and getting close to max boost from the Rotrex SC. Where will we finish up, well its safe to say we will get 450bhp, 325whp after that anything is a bonus really.
