New Down Pipe & Centre Pipe

Postby suff » Thu Oct 30, 2008 12:36 am

Well, now that I am keeping my wagon as a "weekend" car.. the GT is getting some attention.. spent the night fitting a stainless downpipe (bell mouth) plus a stainless centre pipe..

Suffice to say a quick blast around the block without any mufflers or Y pipe was good fun..

Down to the exhaust shop tomorrow to make up a custom Y pipe to suit..

Also fitted the AVO CAI I ordered ages ago..

That just leaves the FMIC (sitting in the shed) and then down for a tune!

Bring on the track!

good work mate, how long did it take to install both pipes? Also where did you source them from as I am interested in centre pipe and y pipe mods as well.

I actually didnt take any pics whilst doing the work..

I have redo some of the work anyway (running with out any heatsheilds at the moment) as the bellmouth fouls the braket for the turbo heatsheild.. out with the dremmel on the weekend for some "adjustments" so I will take some pics then

I picked up the downpipe & centre pipe second hand, its rough, but does the job, as the wagon is just a track/weekend car, I am not too concerened with cosmetics.

GTSPECB STI - I Highly recommened Mettams Mufflers in belmont, I have used these guys many many times, and have always been very pleased with their work.. The wagon will be going down tomorrow morning to get the Y Pipe made up in 2.25" pipe

Time wise.. start to finish was 2.5 hours (myself and a friend) and a six pack of pure blonde

Chris can you give us some feedback on the AVO CAI you recently installed. I have ordered one as well to go with my AVO TMIC so any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Guys

Can I get pipe diameters please

I'm installing the Phat DP which I believe is 3", so is it best to match that with a 3" Centre Pipe? Then is the y-pipe 3" as well? and lastly is it best to have 3" on teh mufflers as well.

Thanks for the help.
