Import Complience

Postby Adrian2627 » Tue Jan 03, 2017 5:39 pm

Does anyone know anything about import Complience in QLD? I'm getting ready to bring my Legacy back to Aus and want to know if there's anything I need to do to make getting it complied less expensive/painless. Queensland Transport basically says as long as it meets the necessary ADRs it'll be all good but of course they can't give me any model specific info. They were mostly concerned with A/C gas.

Do you have the approvals from the department of infrastructure and regional development to import your vehicle?
Without this approval, the vehicle will not be allowed to leave the dock of the port of importation.

Thanks Billy that's all under control. I'm more thinking of stuff I can get ready like do I have to change to red door light lenses instead of the JDM clear ones. Little stuff like that that a Complience guy might charge a small fortune for.

Great, good to hear.

Mighty Car Mods had a reasonable video on importing a white Nissan S15 sports.

Seems that the vehicle had to go to an accredited engineers shop for.....
side intrusion impact bars
replacement tyres
brake pads????

This covers what they had to do to get it on the road.

I can confirm the clear door light lenses are fine. Toyotas of the same age have clear ones.
All the eg Aurion guys in Australia change them to red coz they don't like the clear ones (and some of the Subaru guys do the opposite lol)
