Insurance Company

Hi Guys

i previously had Enthusiast Car insurance with my WRX, which covered all my mods at the good price (way cheaper then Just Car insurance)

Since buying the Liberty, they wouldnt insure me even when it was stock standard which is very wierd...

Called Shannons they wanted $2000 premium
Just Cars, RACV - $1500
AAMI, Progressive - $1300
The only insurance i can find with decent price that cover mods is Bingle,, which is about $1100

my driving records are all clean and no claims in last 5 years by the way

Which insurance are you guys with that cover mods?

Did you read PDS? apparently if your parked more then 500M away from home at night, your not covered because it has to be in your garage
Enthusiast was more forgiving, atleast 5 days a week it must be in your garage..

thats what im trying

i just got a pretty good quote from Lumley insurance
guess ill go with them

Yeah, read over it a couple of times before moving because i was crazy skeptical about how cheap the policy was. There is literally nothing in the PDS about "500m from your home".

Obviously you have to tell them where it is parked over night so they can assess the risk accurately, they even give you a huge amount of options; direct from the PDS -

Examples of overnight parking arrangements include:
• Private lockable garage
• Locked shed
• Secure communal garage
• Caged in communal garage
• Public communal garage
• Carport
• Driveway
• Open air private car park
• Open air public car park
• Street

I imagine that rumor started because someone incorrectly disclosed their actual parking situation and they understandably didn't honor a claim. As someone who works in insurance, majority of the time someone has a complaint about a company/claim it is a result of non-disclosure on their part or failure to read the PDS and understand the policy properly.

i did get a quote with Famous, it was about $1300

but due to that parking away from home thing, i decided to not go with them

Anyways So far im thinking going to Lumley Special Vechicles Insurance, $1100

still have 3 weeks to decide
