Help please !!!! - ordering a Zero Sports Grille

Postby bonski » Wed Oct 22, 2008 6:17 pm

Guys - I need some help from the knowledge bank

I need to order a zero sports carbon fibre Grille and insurance has approved me getting it from Japan Parts but they want me to order it.

Picture and description has me a bit worried so thought id let the brains trust help me determine whether this is the right grille for my car. (2007 GTB)

This is the description

For 3.0RspecB/ 2.5i/ 2.0spec B/ 2.0GT/ 2.0R/ 2.0i. Painted in gun-metallic.

This is the only pic provided

The bar looks like the 2.5i bar and i can see the headlights are not the HID ones.

Image

Can someone in the know just confirm that this will fit my car before i drop $1085 on a grille that doesn't fit.

I want to order this tomorrow so love to hear from some people tonight

An email enquiry to japan parts netted this information (I know...not much)

Thank you very much for ordering from our site.
215-049-001 FRONT CARBON GRILLE will fit on
Japanese Domestic Model BL5/ BLE/ BP5/ BPE D-E
(3.0RspecB/ 2.5i/ 2.0spec B/ 2.0GT/ 2.0R/ 2.0i)
All Japanese companies manufacture the parts for Japanese domestic model car only.
They do not manufacture any parts for foreign countries car.
And they do not have any information for foreign counties car.
So no one can make sure whether the parts will fit on your car if your car is not JDM.
Please inform us how we can do for your order.

Bonski, if the grille is part # 215-049-001 from JapanParts, then it should fit your STi Spec B bumper. Like the JDM Spec B grille, it's interchangeable between the Spec B and non-Spec B.

I made that mistake with the Corazon grille because the bottom lip of the Corazon extends all the way to the edge of the bumper. And the non-Spec B bumper is about 10mm shorter than the Spec B one, which is why James (Torpedocreative) had trouble with it's exact fit.

However the ZeroSports grille's bottom lip does not go out that far, thus will fit both Spec B and non-Spec B bumpers. And don't worry about whether the headlights are HID or not as that doesn't factor in.

And $1,085 AUD? Man, that hurts. :blackeye: Thank god insurance is footing the bill.

Thanks Jim. The grille is definitely not a bargain, that’s for sure.

If insurance wasn’t footing the bill I wouldn’t be replacing it.

For anyone curious. It ended up costing this much thanks to extra fees for paypal and the what not.

+1 to that mate!

Was just getting a pair of tyres for my Mum's car & they were telling me to expect approx 35% price rise in tyres due to the exchange rate & the apparent rubber shortage.
