Well just got the car back from mechanics and had the following done:
- Full major service
- timing belt KIT (includes NEW tensioners, idlers, pulleys, water pump, gaskets etc. not just the belt alone) with GENUINE Subaru kit.
- full coolant flush
- front and rear diff oils replaced
- Brake fluid flush
- Transmission service
- complete inspection of the entire car for leaks and loose connections
- Hand brake adjustment and brake pad inspection
- Tyre rotation
- Safety check of all lights
Cost so far - $1447
Still needs the plugs and LHS rocker cover gasket replaced due to it weeping, which is booked in for 2 weeks to be done. Due to time it couldn't be completed today hence the re-booking.
Verdict - Car runs smoother than ever and no other faults or issues reported.

Mechanic reported at how he has never driven a smoother LGT auto than mine. Couldnt get over how smooth the gear shifts were which is a testament to Matt's (Kido) tuning skill. I agree with him. The car is silky to drive.
You're probably thinking I have spent a crap load on a major service and I agree, however I dont like to take risks or chances and while the engine was apart I thought it was wise to just get what I could replaced. Yes it's overkill, but Im keeping the car so I think it was the best choice for me. Now that that's done I can search for a panel beater for the next phase of the rejuvenation.
