Bog stock Dyno's - MY07 GT Spec B 6MT? Can't find any?!?!?

Postby cpitts » Thu Oct 09, 2008 1:36 pm

Guys,

I'm chasing a dyno of a bog stock MY07 lib GT Spec B in Manual (not auto).

Can anyone scan one in for me? I want it for comparisons.

I'd prefer one with kW v's RPM and Nm v's RPM.

Happy if it's all on the same graph.

stuntgirl, if you could dig that up that'd be great. That may be the dyno I use at one stage. ;) If only for a reference. I'm more after the shape of the curve on a Dyno Dynamics dyno and that one's a dyno I know well. ;)

Well, there's no surprises seeing that comment here.

My car is already booked in for a dyno but there are some changes already made to it that I cannot reverse. Hence this request.

ALSO, it's good to have a set of bases to compare to. Not all cars are equally constructed, but you already know that Mike.

I'm surprised a generous man like you wouldn't offer up some basic 'stock' graphs from your 'before' testing. Doesn't take away from all your proprietary tuning information that you've collected.

I've got one you are welcome to, but it is of no use to you.

Different car, different dyno, difference settings (mine is shootout 4), different fuel, different atmospheric conditions, etc.

Specify gear, ramp rate, fuel, ambient temp, etc ... and you may get something useful.

if the Dyno guy is doing the job right the dyno takes all that sought of info into account.. doing it in Shootout 4 is for rear or FWD only...

Gear should be done in 5th for 6 speed or 4th for 5 speeds.. Ramp should always be done same in shoot out 44 and temps and ambient should not make a difference if the dyno programmer enters all the relevnat information into the computer before the run

While I agree that a dyno is a tool for comparison of your own car on a given day/date/atmo/tyre pressure, etc. My desire here is more for the shape of the curve (hard to change based on those aspects).

I'm not really interested in peak power numbers, just the shape of the power and torque curves.

Okay, so it is the 2 litre manual, but as you can see, it has a nice look about the power curve (reflected in it being a very nice car to drive). Notice the increase due to the variable valve timing coming in at about 4000 rpm. Always remember that it is on road performance that matters, not "paper power.

Thanks for that qship!

I gather your 2.0T is the twin scroll GT with a few mods? The power figure looks a bit high for a stock car on the SA Melbourne dyno. They'd normally read a bit lower (but I'd like to be told I'm wrong!), Mind you, it's interesting that the ~4100rpm sag is awfully familiar to that on the 2.5T setup!!

Don't really notice the "sag" when driving, which is my point. Paper performance does not necessarily transfer to on road behaviour.

The car (MY06 2.0 manual wagon) produced 121KW on the same dyno when stock. Now has a reprogrammed ecu and an exhaust.
