My main criticism of last night's show was CHARLIE AND STEVE SHOUTING AT THE CAMERA, especially in the studio setting.

Warren on the other hand shows his experience in front of a camera and is far more relaxed. Warren's voice is far more pleasant to listen to and I hope the other two are having coaching in this regard. I actually had to turn the volume down when Charlie did his bits.

How slippery was the ice/snow they found for the Subbie to be spinning all four wheels?!! Wasn't surprised the Toyota did the drive to one wheel only trick. I guess the Nissan did better but we didn't see. I was impressed with Charlie launching the RAV over the sand hill.

needs to be more australian...... they should trying to copy their brit mates so much.

Not really a fan of show that has already started to switch to a ford and holden battle....... just another wheels mag all over again.

i vote we get chopper on the show to do a few laps of the test track

I was disappointed with the show but agree that we need to give them more time to settle...
I know that they didnt want to be compared to the UK presenters but it seemed to me that the were very scripted and much of what they were saying didnt seem to come naturally.
Whilst the formula works in the UK, I think that making the show setup exactly the same is setting it up to fail. The UK formula evolved to that state over time,I dont think you cant just pick it up and expect it to work with three diferent people.

Highlight: The GTR
Lowlight: Didnt seem to have any real content (I didnt learn anything) - they just seemed to be a tyre-kicking (like the lambo - all they did was start it up???)

Im sure it will get better though, I think the presenters just need to be themselves more...

I'll give it a few more weeks, but they'd better lift their game.
A bit disappointing that they didn't really give a review on a car, especially the soft roaders, they just seemed to flog them around a bit, but didn't really tell us anything about them.

Mmmmm... That is a little too far out of the Shire (The Bubble) for my liking But I think, given even notice, I'll be able to blow off work... Especially we have a good group of us going.

There were six letters about "Top Gear Australia" in the Age's Green Guide today, all slamming SBS for making it an exact ripoff of the UK show.

The Stig

It still looks like the original but it was good, it was not UK show repeats from 6 years ago.

How about if we see some cars that we could actually relate to like the falcons and holdens not morgans and weissmans. SBS deserves a chance. Having said that I hated the first show.

Sadly I've been hearing that it's going to be axed

I think everyone needs to remember that also SBS is playing its part, that the show is still controlled by BBC International, thus why is has been kept in the same format / look.

The longer the show goes on, the better it will get. Will be a shame if it gets cut down before its given a fair go... I mean, look at the original Top Gear UK... IMO it sucked for the first few seasons (With the main cast).
