how big is the fuel tank on a liberty

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

I seem to get great economy compared to others - city cycle nets me 9.4-9.6lts/100kms most weeks and it gets a squirt every day, but I suppose I dont give it the berries all the time and tend to drive economically other times.

A/F ratios on mine are spot on too so its not lean

Damn.. I baby my car 90% of the time and abuse it 10%.. I would be lucky to see under 12.5l/100 (30% hwy / 70% traffic)

Have had 3 x GenIV Libs and all tanks have been 64 litres. This would be at the first click of the fuel hose, as have also achieved 65 litres on a fill.
With sensible use of the right foot invariably achieve >100kms after the 'low fuel' light comes on.

Probably just dodgy fuel stations with errors in their fuel pumps.. And of course the errors are always in their favors.. Paying for 65L and probably getting less than 60L

a/f ratio spot on.....?

have you had a tune?................ these engines a programed to run very rich from factory

Nope stock ECU maps (but mine is an STi tune)

Dyno run shows an un-usually smooth fuel map - nice and economical off boost at 13.5-14:1 and a safe but not drowning 10.5-11:1 on boost, and no nasty dumps and spikes. Interestingly I mode nets 12:1 on boost till 5,000rpm where it drops to 10.5 again (safe). I've seen some stockers his 9:1 on boost (v rich)

Only ran it on the rollers out of interest to see if the stutter I used to get would show up, but the stutter doesn't exist anymore *shrug*

143kw at the wheels is pretty respectable (Dyno Dynamics)
Lifes pretty straight without twisties:
