Just test drove the 07 GT Spec B

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

By comparison to the liberty, i thought the MPS 6 handled like a boat, it seemed much heavier than the liberty and was very floaty. I dont doubt it would handle better than a ba falcon but it seriously felt like i was punting around in a big falcon how it behaved on the road.

OK Norbs,

http://www.subaru.com.au/files/pdf/LibertySpecs.pdf

Well it clearly doesnt show here from Subaru.

Obviously you have either :
a) purchased the wrong vehicle for yourself
b) regret your purchase.

But yeah Im not going to keep on with this on going arguement.

Phil what are u referring to re. spec sheet?

I own an '05 model which I am most happy with aside from a few mods that I've made. I wasn't happy with the '07 :P

When I jumped in and floored it, I thought wow the SI drive is doing a good job in limiting the power. Until I realised it was in sport mode and then I felt a massive sinking feeling :(

Don't give up Phil, you can still convince me !!!!

Sorry Norb's, I might have misunderstood u.

The link was referring to all bilsteins in all grades. I thought it was only specb's.

Nah you have the right to not agree with it. Its only a fun convo.

Did you try sports sharp?

Well we can only see in time how the mods go.

I think the new 2.5 gt motor is a bit like the h6 motor in the 3rb, it doesnt throw you in seat or spool up as hard as the old 2.0 gt motor, but it is building up speed much quicker than you think but does it with much more ease, you dont need to ring the cars kneck so to speak to get it rolling.

As I said it is more about using the Torque rather than Boost. And you only experience this after drving the car under different conditions over a period of time.

I'd also say that without at least 1500ks on the clock, the 2.5 is pretty lethargic so a new, low-milage GT is not going to come across real well in a test drive. And nor did the 05 GT either.

Of course it doesn't change the fact that the pre 07 GTs are more powerful and faster, does it Norbs.

BTW. What are the mods on your 05? Go-fast seatcovers from Autopro? :P

Oooh that hurts Greg

Return fire !! I've upgraded the brakes and suspension and have a TBE and a pinch more boost. If I intend on keeping the car, I'll probably upgrade the bottom end (2.5L Axis stage 3 motor or PMS) and a VF-36 turbo. I'd be happy for 220KW+ ATW with a broad and reliable power spread.
