Lets see whats causing oil usage first? That turbo is notorious for oil seep. Dry then wet comp test first would be my choice.

Please remember that compression doesn't equal oil control.

Turbo has only done 1000kms and runs a 35thou restrictor

The large black mud spatter on ground behind each exhaust where I warm it up in morning is a good clue too.

If I drive it relatively cold and then idle it, it will puff blue smoke on idle.
Manley spec is 4.5thou piston to wall clearance, clearly too large with darton sleeves :(

That is why I said dry then wet as an indicator

OK, car goes in tomorrow.

Phenolic spacers will be installed while all the pistons are replaced n bores rebored to suit, all innards will be inspected, new bearings in rotating assembly, machining to suit etc.

All valve contact to pistons and each other will be degreed this time too. Safe tuning in future.

Going 8.2 so I can run higher boost :D

On other news I have had the weld fail on primary to secondary join on the Killerb headers on Monday.

I am dealing with them for a resolution.

Their new ones have a cast machined collector here, hmmmm I wonder why!!

While apart I will have the front bar and bonnet sprayed too.

Sad it will be ripped apart so soon after getting it all together and driving well but some $ now will prevent me lunching things in the near future.

Just protecting the rest of my investment.

will killer b work with you to sort the problem, considering you had the headers wrapped? usually voids any sort of warranty etc the company might have.

They are working with me so far as they have no reason not to. Come with Lifetime warranty.

Taken straight from their website 'You can also ceramic coat or wrap our headers (and keep the warranty) without exceeding the temperature range like you can with 304 stainless.'

99.75mm Cosworth Pistons ready to go in.
