Hahaha you are one crazy man Mr JSlayz!! :D
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

Thanks again Bezza for popping past for the reflash!

So it has a 16psi Wgate spring and goes pretty well for such low boost.

Roll on the dyno tune in a few weeks!

"Pretty well" is an understatement J! Bum dyno says crazy fast to me already haha.
Once you've wound it up a little with a proper tune, it's going to seriously turn some heads ;)

OK had turbo off as it blew an uppipe gasket......strange right!?!?!?

So pulled out turbo while still attached to uppipe and discovered that the middle flange nut was not able to be turned any tighter but still needed to tighten another 0.5mm to squish the gasket like the other nuts and studs........the flange on the nut was touching the exhaust housing but this was fouling and stopping good gasket sealing.

Hallejuyah!

Sooo the Dom 1.5 xtr was very likely not seated properly either, ever......

Definitely need a retune but the car is driving smoother and seems as fast at 16psi now as it was with the 24psi from the Dom 1.5 xtr. Obviously more rpm required to get it going but once going :D

Sorting this motivated me to give the car a much, much needed bath and put up some pics of the new front bar.

Fingers crossed I am now entering the happy zone of owning this beast. It will need a retune, hurry please Matt!!

It's little wins like this that make the pain worthwhile. Great to hear its been sorted. The car is looking mint.

It just doesn't look quite right without the large scoop on the hood
Must be a massive change when driving not having it in your vision no more!

Your loss is my gain though I guess. Will be in touch when I can swing round and grab it off you ;)

Thanks Chook, If I never changed turbo I probably would never have got to the bottom of the jerkiness at cruise!

Also, Matt did ask me if I had a leak.......at his visit before last.......
I could not find one in the intake....and everything looked solid on the exhaust......

Car has used 1L of oil this week, going to repiston/ring it asap.

Will use this as an opportunity to change to Cosworth Pistons at a higher compression ratio.

Displacement will increase a poofteenth too.

While apart we will check and adjust shims/buckets, degree the valve clearance to piston and a general check over.

So short motor lasted 34,000kms of sorting and abuse, had hoped for more....

Will see how the next one goes.

Lets see whats causing oil usage first? That turbo is notorious for oil seep. Dry then wet comp test first would be my choice.

Please remember that compression doesn't equal oil control.

Turbo has only done 1000kms and runs a 35thou restrictor

The large black mud spatter on ground behind each exhaust where I warm it up in morning is a good clue too.

If I drive it relatively cold and then idle it, it will puff blue smoke on idle.
Manley spec is 4.5thou piston to wall clearance, clearly too large with darton sleeves :(

Yep still standard bore size in the sleeves, going to next size up.

I'm interested to see what issues we find as I suspect 2 things.

Its a hot debate 9.2 compression or 8.2 compression...E85 is nowhere around here anymore.
