If you have the means to bend some 3" pipe then it's all well and truly possible.
As far as plumbing it yourself, that's not hard. You will need access to some quality hose for the water to transfer too and from the heat exchanger in line with your water pump.
Honestly I used something like this kit except I went the upgraded Bosch Cobra water pump and different core type to suit the space needed. This was for my previous car, not the lib btw.

Placement of the core is crucial as it will lay the foundation for your pipework. Then it's a matter of making sure there is clearance with the bonnet when in the closed position.
Removing all air out of the water lines is also important to ensure you are maximizing the cooling effects of the core.
