HI! FROM MELBOURNE

Introduce yourself

HI! FROM MELBOURNE

Postby jarradmezz » Wed May 27, 2015 10:24 pm

Hey all!
I am a 17 year old who is looking into buying my first car and can't keep my eyes off the 3.0r b-spec

Just a few questions:

- Does it still run okay if it has a few km's on the clock? (150,000<)
- Do they sound nice stock?
- Do they feel quick and can you have heaps of fun in them?

I know I still have a bit of time but I would like to gather as much information as I can before I commit myself into my first car

Cheers everyone

Jarrad :)

yes,
yes (but much better with an exhaust)
yes.

they NEED a tune to get good power/mileage - stock tune is garbage.

Yeah I'm just thinking of chucking an exhaust tip on simply because I'm on a pretty tight budget aha

What type of tune do you recommend?

The induction noise when you change the piping is amazing, it's almost loud enough to just keep a stock exhaust on.

Get a tune from Kido_Tuning on here, he's done majority on the site it seems.

More than enough power, heaps quicker than my brand new SV6 VE was.

Make sure you pick one up in a manual!

Alright cheers heaps for that!
So you reckon just keep a stock exhaust on cause its loud enough? Because I'm all about that subie rumble its just amazing!
Should I chuck an exhaust tip on for that little bit of extra noise?

Yeah I'm definitely picking up a manual

Cheers heaps guys!

If theres anything else I should know feel free to message me or put stuff on here

Appreciate it

That's not what I mean, mufflers will make a huge difference, but I just love the intake roar from inside the cabin.

I'll be getting mufflers myself in the near future. As for a whole system I reckon it'll be too loud.

Manual is the way to go, not many online though!

If you're after that subie rumble, you're going to be disappointed. The H6 doesn't rumble, it screams.
It's totally different, but not in a bad way at all.

The 4 cylinder ones are the ones that rumble when they have the right exhaust fitted

Depends on the colour of the car mate, my car is dark grey with satin black wheels (Check my link on the R/H side) if you want an idea.

Not too expensive, and definitely set the car off.

I've fallen in love with the ROTA grids

Do you reckon an 18 inch rim even if I'm going to lower the car about an inch?

Just need an indication as to what size will still fit in the wheel hub after lowering

Cheers

Yeah 18x8 or 8.5 (not sure what sizes they come in) with about +45 offset I believe

You can fit them with the car lowered a bit for sure, just may require some guard rolling which isn't that big of a deal

Make sure you get the right size tires and don't rush your decision there's heaps of wheels out there, do your research
