Introduce yourself

New Member and Gen V owner.

Postby Koff » Tue May 05, 2015 9:42 pm

Hello All,

Just picked up my my10 Gen V Liberty GT Premium. The car has only done 26,000 km since new as the previous owner had a company car and hence this second car was hardly driven

Looking forward to reading up what people have done with them here.

Few mods planned. Change the headlights to have DRL built in. new exhaust and retune, new wheels or powder coat stock into gun metal grey, full tint all around, and maybe a lip spoiler for the front and a lip for the tail.

Some suspension work to be done too.

My only gripe with the car is that it has no USB slot, only RCA, I didn't realise this until the drive home when I tried to plug in some music.

I'm sure there are some options for this.

Anyway

Cheers

Thanks for that.

First quick mod will be to powdercoat the wheels into either black or gun metal grey.

A friend of mine photo-shopped a couple of pics of my car with what the wheels will look like in darker colours.

So, the first few parts have been ordered.

Crystal Eye Headlights via Jesse Streeter as per advice from SYM.

And Replacement HIDs and LED Fog Lamps via Leo(HKS180).

Nice - these headlights really make the Gen V look decent - the stock ones really let it down.

Looks good mate!

I wasn't happy about the no USB either - I haven't got around to pulling the head unit out and checking serial numbers yet lol

I got the headlights through Jesse Streeter.

http://jessestreeter.com/

I thought it would be hard to begin with but he makes it very easy and the reviews for him on this and others forums have always been super positive.

Youll need to provide him the japanese website for the headlights, he will get a price from his wholesaler and if you agree with it he will let you know the next step. I've found him to be more competitive than the other retailers I have tried in aus or directly from the retailer in Japan.

the website is below.

http://www.crystal-eye.jp/shopdetail/00 ... ge1/order/

I also recommend Leo (HSK180) to replace the stock HID bulbs, and LED fog lights as well any other lightining requirements you may have.

Welcome! Nice nice mod you have planned for your car, it's a shame they don't make any rear tail lights for the sedan. My recommendation on suspension mods is a nice set of springs and a thicker rear sway bar.

Thanks, yeh i like to put a few touches on my cars and bikes to make them my own.
I have a few mods planned for it.
Powder coat stock wheels or get some STIs (especialy if SYM decides to sell his)
probably a brake, disc upgrade
Tint all around
STI front lip
Boot lip spoiler
Was thinking of invidia q300 exhaust from dump pipe on but SYMs HKS system also looks and sounds nice. definitely a tune afterwards to take advantage of it.
Suspension upgrade as per your post.
Few other cosmetic changes like grill and LED replacing all the stock bulbs.
Not sure i want to play around with turbo or engine really as stock is good enough for me.

If I want to go fast quickly I'll jump on my bike.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, have been reading everyones posts and builds and it feels like I know everyone already.

Lights are in and thanks to Jesse Streeter all was delivered safely and got a good deal. Thanks Sym for the recommendation.

Will be fitting them this long weekend.

Thanks to Leo for his advice on what to look out for with the fit out and with the replacement 6000k Globes and LED fog lamps which will be going in at same time.
