New liberty- First service- how much or is it free...???

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

New liberty- First service- how much or is it free...???

Postby BlackIce » Tue Dec 05, 2006 3:11 am

Just a little question about the first 3 month/ 5000 k service...

Is it free or do you have to pay for it, may sound like a bit of a silly question, but have spoken to other ppl about it and they seem to think that it is kinda included in the price of the car...

YEah I know I should have and should ask the dealer I bought it off, but there is a reason for it...

And that is... when I bought it, the car got recalled due to a wiring harness problem, now this took quite a few days to rectify, to which they said that they would 'look' after me... Anyway when i picked up the car the dealer said that b/c of the hassle I had to go through they would do the first service at no cost to me....

So is it the 3 month/ 5000k service or the one after...?? When I get home on the 21st it will be well and truely due, so i would like to know before hand...

Cheers...

Hey mate..

No I dont think they 5,000 is free, mine wasnt.

The 1,200 was free, it was mostly to see if you have any problems with your car and if you didnt know how to use things.. e.g the radio etc.. and if u had any issues :)

What "1,200"?
They didn't want to see me until I'd done 5,000
(I was asking when I called in at 500, for my first oil topup and a few minor fixes.)

Really? shit that's diffrent.. maybe each Subaru is diffrent?

That is what happend with me with my Subaru?? :)

I hate when each Subaru is diffrent.. they should just be the same, and stop all the hassels.. so everyone that has a Subaru will get the same type of service etc..!

I saw them at 2000. Dropped it in to check warranty stuff and top up my oil and check the car. FREE.

5000kms is $130 for me. Replaced fuel filter and oil.

yeah i took mine in for a 1200, and it was just to make sure everything was ok. had a few glitches, as im sure everyone does, but it cost me nothing...

i complained that the car pulled to the left when driving, and they decided to tell me that it was how the car was designed.... im like whatever... tried charging me 150 bucks for a wheel alignment, and balance.. told them where to stick it, cause it was a warranty issuse... it soon got taken off...

but in the end, it was free...

Liber8ed,
Just picked up my RB and have found the same thing - pulling left on the highway - what's the deal with "its a design thing??". Since when do cars turn left as part of the design?!
Haven't spoken to the dealership yet, but expect they should align it for free.

Before you do, check the tyre pressures!
Mine were all over the place after delivery. One of the fronts was on 58!

Had first service today at Sydney City Subaru - $160.

Also had to get the trim round the sunroof opening reattached and get them to fix up some screw ups from when they fitted the tow bar.

Also got the cargo area tray and wanted the MP3 jack but it's on back order - what a pain in the arse.

just had my first service (3months) done this morning at SVM Lindfield and got charged $158. got them to fix the boot liner that was catching when i was opening the boot under warranty. i don't do that many kays and was wondering if it was really necessary to take it back to them in march again. i've only done 1900Kms in three months. any thoughts guys/girls

cheers Damian

Hey Buddah. What fell off? the Sunroof lining or the tow bar

It's back in tomorrow for the bits they didn't have last week and the AUX sockets have come in off back order. YAY!!! Will be interested to see what the iPod sound quality is like through that rather than through the Transpod.
