I Went In For A Simple Alignment

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

It's a bit like McDonalds taking a photo of a Whopper and using it in their marketing campaign without telling the Burger King.

But they are using your car for their own gain... I work in advertising... what they did is wrong but then as others have said, they'd be pretty chuffed with it.

I'd ask them why they used it, it may get you a free alignment, or more.

IF you want to follow it up the facts are:
1. all they did is align your car yet they are featuring it as if it's 'their suspension' work
2. you only agreed for your car to be in their 'photo gallery', not used for marketing collateral. If they had mentioned marketing collateral there should have been a discount on the work performed, or payment for the usage, not to mention a signed 'talent release' agreeing to what the image could be used for.

But then they're not showing the numberplate so they could argue it's a different car ;)

Haha. That's very true. They've blocked out the number plate so there's no real way to prove it's even my car! :D Fair enough. Will just let it go and just be proud my car made it as their ad feature. :D

You are too nice a guy Jim, go back to them & if they say its not your car show them pics of your car when it looked like that, & remind them that STI's don't look like that standard.
Then proceed with further action as others have mentioned above

Hi Arith sorry but in this and every situation like this you and every one else don't and can't have Copyright over your car or any other mass produced product .

You have not registered or copyrighted this product in your name.

Yes you do own you car but you have no rights over its design .

If your car was a hand made one off such as a Hot Rod it would cost you hundreds of thousands of $$ to copyright the design and at that stage you could ask for royalties , The holder of copyright and design registration of your Liberty would be Fuji Industries

I'd be happy that they used it, but wouldnt be happy that they didn't ask.
Very very rude imo.

And as they others have said, its very misleading...

Haha. Thanks for the support fellas and the technicals Buddah. Since I don't have any rights in this case, at least they kept it tasteful. I mean, it could have been some sort of "1 out of 5 men who suffer erectile dysfunction drive a Subaru Liberty Spec B Tuned By STi like the one pictured here".

Then again I haven't seen next month's issue yet. :pardon:
