Hey guys/gals!

just when i thought it was on wrx's that had a site, i stumble upon this dedicated liberty site - which is just as well, seeing as i've got me a liberty!

some quick "formalities"....

Name: Jon
Ride: Subaru Liberty Wagon MY08
Location: Melb, Vic
Mod: STi front strut brace
Plans: really wanna pay it off 1st before "modding"
Occupation: sales - bikes
Year of birth: 1983
Interest: really into bikes (pushy's) and scuba diving and cars as a little hobby
Previous Rides: 1988 Nissan Skyline Ti; 1990 Nissan Pintara TRX

ahhh, just some more random stuff if you're interested....

i've always been "into" subaru's and always wanted to own one. thought i'd always get a wrx.... doesn't everyone? then the day finally came round to purchase a new steed (as old cars have too many problems to fix!), found out that there's bugger all boot space in the ole rex!

my main boxxes to be ticked for a new car was it were to have enuf boot space to throw in a bike or two WITHOUT having to take the front wheel off, be good on fuel, and NOT FWD - but then again, anythin these days is gonna handle better than a 1990's car  plus it doesn't hurt that it looks good too!

was orignally gonna get a late model liberty wagon - or rex if the price was right and NOT FLOGGED.... but then realised that many of the liberty's for sale have relatively high km's for the year and the askin price. so for pretty much what sellers were askin, i was only a few grand away from a brand spanker new unit.... and a new unit i got!

i've had the liberty since the end of jan this year. it was supposed to be a demo car, but it never made it to the showroom floor! :D

Hi Jon
welcome to the forums mate. Nice choice with the black wagon - looks sweet. Could do with dumping it a bit though ;)

I admire your plan to pay it off before modding, now you are on this forum I give you 1 month before you are inspired to tweak :)

hehe, 1 month ey.... well i think it was about 2 months after 1st gettin the car that i put in the STi strut brace 8)

....then today i drove up to ringwood to check out some STi rims  soooo tempting!

yeah i live down in the SE bayside suburbs - Beaumaris to be exact. tho those pics were taken at black rock car park after takin some pics for a scuba project.

half the time i drive to work (in prahran) along nepean hwy; or ride along beach road - and no, i'm NOT apart of the "hell riders" group - MTB's are the way to go.... just gotta dodge rocks and tress instead of cars and people!

Welcome Jon! Hope your stay here is a good one! Very nice black wagon there! Though I must say that's one of the more STi decorated Libertys I've seen that's not actually a STi. :D

Hey, you didn't mention anything about the quad tip setup you have in your intro! Just tips or actual mufflers?

HAHA! yeah i know! it just looked a bit too plainish the for my liking, so decided to some Sti bits on it, just cos its "kewl" tho in my defense, i do have an actual STi part!

with the rear, they're just twin tips. i've ALWAYS like the look of twin tips and thought i'd change it just to be different - bit of wank really! HA! :P but so far i like the look of it, i still have the OEM tips....

Haha. Sorry, man. I didn't mean it like that. Plenty of people on here do that so it's no biggie. To the average person they wouldn't know what STi is anyway. It's cool to have a bit of rubicon red! :ok:

Heh-heh. Again, sorry if I came off teasing you or might have inferred the wank factor. Just curious about the tips. Because I too love my twin tips and that would have been the first mod I do. But you should count that as a mod because it is a change from OEM. :derisive: Not all mods have to be some sort of a performance related one.

HAHA! no dramas - i never take these things too seriously anyways. i sure if u REALLY wanted to hav a dig you could've  ie: "scott" sticker?!?! just incase you don't know, its a bike brand that i ride with.

as for "dropping it on its guts".... maybe if i get some STi rims.... but for now its gonna stay stocko height (subjective words: "for now".... )

Oh, might mention these extra "goodies" i got with the subbie (all OEM)....

- sat nav/dvd
- momo shifter (mine's a manual)
- "mini" amp and sub
- floor mat set
- boot dish protector thingy (basically a huge plastic mat/dish wich protects the boot carpet) - handy when wet scuba stuff is in the back!
- tinted windows
- interior/exterior protection....

....(refering to the interior/exterior protection) has anybody else got this when they purchased their subbie? appartently if a scratch or dent comes within a 15cm circle, subaru will repair at no cost to me. plus paint is garanteed for the nect 4 years. if its an interior stain and wont come out, then they will replace fabric. has anyone used this service from subaru?
