HU/Amp/Reverse Camera

A very big shout out for Michael (mihai). He installed a Pioneer AVHX8650BT, Alpine PDX-V9, Reverse Camera and steering wheel controls in my MY06 specB yesterday. An absolute professional and good guy too. I'm wrapt with his job and new found love with the car

Is that the hu that does CarPlay? If so, let us know what you think - I'm considering one myself (and a reversing camera).

Carplay is for Iphone and I have Samsung S5. PM Harry (THERB3), he has the same HU but using Iphone. The S5 is not compatible yet with Appradio so I'm using the HDMI connection to mirror link the S5 onto to HU. I'm wrapt with the bluetooth audio quality and reverse camera quality, everything else the HU does is a bonus . The factory speakers with an aftermarket HU and Amp sound better then I expected..

How do you get your MIXTRAX to look like that ?

What do you plug it into ?

I was playing music via an SD card and saw the Mixtrax symbol, so I pressed it and that came up. It's actually pretty good. Mixes song's well.

I normally do Mixtrax through Bluetooth and it doesn't have that option

Howdy - not sure if your are monitoring this thread any longer, but if you are I would be interested in a couple of things (I am looking at a near identical build - Pioneer head unit with reversing camera, alpine amp under the seat).

1. Were you able to reuse the hazard switch without modification?

2. Where,did your mount the reversing camera?

3. Did your upgrade your speakers? If so, what did you pick?

4. How is the sound quality, and the user experience after a couple of months?

Any other general obervations on the installation or subsequent use would be very much appreciated. Is there anyone you wish you had done / chosen differently?

Yes. It just held in by 2 screws to the factory headunit. Unscrew these and reuse them on the fascia kit

2. Where,did your mount the reversing camera?
Reverse camera was mounted on the black plastic boot trim where the number plate lights are.

3. Did your upgrade your speakers? If so, what did you pick?
At the time speakers were left as factory. I don't think Gino has upgraded since. Sounded much better than stock with the right crossover points selected etc

4. How is the sound quality, and the user experience after a couple of months?
N/A

Only real issue was getting steering wheel controls working. There was a bit of messing around but we got there in the end.
Otherwise it was all good.
