Is my car r180 diff fitted

Postby gen3v8 » Wed Dec 24, 2014 2:07 pm

I have all the parts to fit brembo rears on my car. What I need to know is how to tell if it has an r180 diff and axles?.
It needs these for the bolt up conversion to work.

As it's a manual yes, R180 is standard. Google R180 vs R160 images and you'll see the difference. The 160 is more rectangular whereas the 180 is more square and noticeably bigger.

If you don't have these already: rear brembo calliper adapters aka dogbones (pm cruisn), and either brembo adapter rear drums for 170mm hand brake shoes, or get your HB shoes padded out to 190mm for stock brembo STi rear disks w/190mm drums, making sure that the discs have 5x100 drilling to suit your hubs. Use my google link to find the relevant info :)

The wrx Sti r180 /brembo setup won't work with the post facelift liberty r180 setup unless you swap hubs

The post facelift liberty rear shafts use r160 hub end and r180 diff end. So unless you've bought a brembo kit from a liberty /legacy then they won't work entirely without doing as Benny said

Just give us a list of the parts you have :)
Looks like you're good to go though if the conversion was supplied complete.

Yep that's the l19 handbrake bracket and cable

You will need to detach your existing cable and replace with the one on the new shoes
