Wouldn't liability be in their hands?

You would THINK so. But its extremely hard to prove Holden did anything. I delivered the car on a trailer with low pressure and no noises. It was diagnosed and then i sent it to another shop to fix. They the fixed it but the damage was already done.

Holden said to me that when using a mechanical gauge to test the pressure that it started to make a noise so they switched it off so it WOULDNT do damage to the cam etc.

So the answer is , well YES it had done damage. But in reality Holden could say that the new workshop did the damage as they fixed the pump. So im left being piggy in the middle and no car and NO ONE taking blame.

I just have to fix it and enjoy.

you want ACCC:
https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consu ... guarantees
Products must be of acceptable quality, that is:

safe, lasting, with no faults
look acceptable
do all the things someone would normally expect them to do.
Acceptable quality takes into account what would normally be expected for the type of product and cost.

Have you actually asked holden for some extra assistants out of warranty anyway? you need to tell them to try though and nearly force them, they are often lazy and say they cant and it wont go though, but it can work. Im in the middle of getting a new auto put into a captiva that's out of warranty in time and km, we are paying some labour, I just had a timing chain put into a golf that was out on time but not km, we paid 30% of parts only...

Yep ive spoken at length to the dealer and they are washing their hands of it. Im struggling to get a rear main seal fixed under warranty as they want it back to them in country NSW 3.5hrs drive one way. I said not a chance that I'm driving 7 hours to get a warranty issue fixed. So they have agreed to give me $600 towards the repair.

Helloooo

Havent posted an update in here for a few months now. So here goes

I finally got my HSV back from all the head work etc. It fecking rips now, totally transformed the car in noise, power, response you name it .

It also has changed my fuel consumption which im now averaging 22-25L PER 100k. So yeh it looooves a drink.

But i do now have a nice "little" stage 3 head and cam setup. Which has this

Custom Grind Stage 3 Cam
Manley Dual Valve Springs
Titanium Retainers
Heavy Duty Locks
Manley Push Rods
Performance Lifters
Steel Head gasket
ARP Head Studs
VCM Over The Radiator (OTR) intake - Short as f*&k intake of about 6".
Stainless Headers
Euro 4 cats
Dual 3" exhaust

I couldnt get the base line run done on my car as it was fecked when it got there, so we used a generic HSV baseline to compare it too.

Im Now making 337.4kw at the rear tyres , which is about 430-450kw at the motor. So im up from 317kw stock to 450kw now....... which is impressive.

What the mechanic did say was that my motor must be a healthy one as the car has more torque everywhere compared to others that he has tuned. Some have made more power but mine has more area under the curve on the dyno and "feels" more torquey.

To compare a brand new LSA GTS VF puts down about 320kw at the rear tyres on his dyno. I have 337.4kw..... so it does go alright.

BUT......

There is always a but cause it my fucking car.

I had it for a week and a half after the above mods and it threw a CEL and went into LIMP mode. Towed back to the mechanic and he said it was a throttle setting that he forgot to change . All good. He drove it 1 hour back to my place from his shop, then i drove him 40min back to his house and dropped him of. Drove around the corner and it threw the CEL and LIMP again. Drove back and he just scratched his head with "WTF".

LOOOOOONNNNGGG Story short. Sat for 2 weeks at his shop to diagnose the issue and fix the issue casue it had a PCM/ECM internal failure. Fried the processor!!! FECK ME.

Ended up getting some guru from Suttons plug in and he said it has a 09 Clubsport R8 AUTO factory holden file on the ecu, mines a 2010 Clubsport GXP MANUAL. So it had a kitten with all the mods etc and shat itself.

So we wiped it clean and downloaded the vin/chassis number matching factory file onto the car and BOOM away she went. Then the Tuner/Mechanic re-did the entire tune.... didnt just copy and paste as he was worried it might corrupt the new file.

And so far it has been turning tyres VERY well and chewing fuel VERY well. But it starts first time everytime and actually works..... so im happy.

Here is a little cold start vid for you.

 that fuel consumption. I will no longer bitch about my E85 use, that's incredible.

What a stuff up with the ECU! - that sounds like something that would happen to me too, you just don't have good luck, do you!

The power/torque is impressive though, should be more than enough to win the traffic light GP - if you can get traction! What's the rear tyres on these, maybe you need to upgrade it to something stupidly wide?

yeh my luck is pretty much non existent. Or what i do have is bad luck. Lol

Its got the stock sized rims on it so they are 245/40/19's. It could do with some 10.5" wide rears easy with 265/275 wide.

But if i end up keeping it for a while i might just do it.

If im angry with it it will smoke 2nd off the limiter and then grab 3rd and sideways again.
