It will have more to do with offset distance more than anything. You dont really want anything less than 35 offset. Otherwise you will need to roll the guards and add more negative camber.

bare in mind that this is the tyre size, not the rim size. just make sure the rim PCD is 5x100.

If it helps, I'm running work emotion kiwami's on my lib (06 3.0r spec.b). They're 18x7.5 +38 offset, 235/40/18 sumimotos and I had to roll my rear guards. If I could change my setup I'd probably go for 225/40/18's with a little higher offset (like +42-45) mainly because having people in the back results in aloota scraping - fitment wise looks great on rears, fronts could do with a bit of neg. camber to reduce poke along with lowering but I've got a steep driveway so I'm leaving it as it is

Thanks guys much appreciated and yeah haven't done any other mods to my car as I just recently bought it , I wouldn't need to worry about rolling my guards yet as i haven't lowered it yet would I ? And what's the link to the facebook page if anybody has it

Ain are you talking about pengas wheels? If so they're cr kai's not xd9's.

If you want a nice easy fit go with 18x8 +35, but 18x8.5 is better suited for a 235/40 tyre. If going 8.5 wide an offset like 42 is pretty easy to deal with and still looks good.

Edit: price wise, $1000-1200 ish second hand (you may get tyres with that) , $1300-1500 brand new.

I bought Matthews XD9's (18x8 +35) :-)

I was just checking on what tyres to run on billies and sti pinks on a gen 4 sedan and came across this post.

Thinking with a bit of guard rolling i should be able to fit 225/40/18 tyres. What do you guys think?
Engine: MRT XC kit= VF24 turbo,CAI, Hyperflow TMIC, 5" heat wrapped dump, Warlbro fuel pump, 3" TBE, Ecutek, 200 KW atw.

I run those exact specs with Enkei RPF1 on my STi wagon. Haven't rolled my guards at all and they are fine, no scrubbing at all.
