Can anyone put my mind at ease re being booked in for a Kido tune in his upcoming Perth visit?

Please read page 1, post 1 on my profile thread.
Matt tunes my fun machine ..... he has my trust.
I give this car a hard time and all is good in the Learning view after. Bezza can confirm.

I'm fitting an even larger oil cooler soon so I can give it an even harder time !!

In my experience Matt has a cautious approach but still gets results.

Sounds like he's quite the salesman, really earning his cut from that Ecutek tune.

When anyone pushes something too hard you have to wonder what's in it for them.

I second that comment above about Matt being cautious.

The ecutek is a great tool but locks your ecu to that tuner. I prefer matts tune to my ecutek tune.

Matt also can lock your ecu so if you try to change his tune your car goes into limp mode.

So in the interest of full disclosure, please ask him about that before committing.

I can lock the tune if its going to another workshop for servicing IF it has something worth protecting. Usually leave it unlocked

I am always happy to dyno tune and it would still be cheaper than an EcuTek tune. Seen lots of EcuTek tunes go bang too after dyno time. Ensure that the EcuTek seller honours their claimed warranty via reviews and that its not voided due to 'abuse'

Thank you all for the comments. I read up a lot about Matt and his work before booking his next Perth visit and I read a lot of great reviews. I'm excited now and can't wait :D

Any idea for the dates for Perth Matt?

I have done some searches but can't find answers and I am guessing Mat you will know this as a tuner. How much headroom is in the standard injectors as in how much power could I expect from them with a good tune? From memory they are 550cc.

All engines explode. People get unhappy with everything. Unless you're doing something new or crazy, I really don't think it would make a HUGE amount of difference. (blasphemy!). As long as you're not pushing the boundaries, you'll be fine*

* Note: not an actual garauntee - herein lies the problem, your engine could explode tomorrow from say ... a dodgy FPR, or some weird fuel contamination or.. whatever.

Absolutely right. There are never any guarantees. The more modified a car, the more things there are that can go wrong.

Having said that some tuners are better than others. If the car is pretty close to stock a Kido tune is definitely not the worst thing you can get, Matt's had plenty of years to get it right.

If all the blown tuned cars I've seen (pretty much any soobie that went bang - regardless of tuner kido, insight, pulse, mrt, springy, HP factory etc etc) are anything to go by - it's impossible to ping the tuner for anything. Unless the car goes bang on the dyno while he's tuning it, you're on your own. Even then...goodluck.

With my last tuner I would use ecu flash with eBay vag com cable and romraider for logging. I hope that would do?
