Well colour me a little bit pleased with myself...
a couple of years ago i bought a charcoal drawing off of my mates dad.
He runs a charity and gets random stuff donated for auction or sale.
In my case i was in their lounge room and saw it, liked it alot and commented. Clint (MPS that was at wakefield) says "do you want to buy it?" his dad told him he was hoping for $1000.00 for it so me and the missus chuck 'em a gorilla and the deal is done.
i still love it but look at it often and wonder if we overpaid or if we would ever get our money back if we sold.
Clint sent me an email today letting me know that the artist Robin Yeoman was a finallist (top 50) in this years Dobell prize (drawing's archibald), didn't win but after discussion with the judges found out she was top four and that she was actually one judges winner.
i'm not an art expert or even serious appreciator but hopefully i got a little lucky....
