Also Matt - new housing is on so we need to catch up ;)

Just read your text, been doing a Deschelle build all day

Pressure and flow would equalise/distribute through the opening. Say one side had higher pressure(same rpm, so would have lesss flow) the other side would be pumping out similar flow as the distribution occurs across the port

Makes sense but would need to see the port to visualize

Given new housing should spool 400-500 rpm earlier I'm going to add fuel into lower to mid load and take 2 degrees out between 2000-3000rpm

Yeah J I'm chasing better response. For street and track. Might lose a bit up top but the trade off is worth it to me

It will allow me to put the car to highest and best use - which is a good street car or fun track car

I've said before but I'm not really a fan of wta on a street car

Reverse manifold definitely though

I know what you mean about response.
Getting Matt to focus on getting the turbo spinning even more down low and going to 24 psi in a few weeks.

Housing is on

Refined the tune a little.

Pulled 2 to 3.5 degrees of timing out of it from 1.4 g/rev onwards all the way to redline. Bit of overkill and not ideal but better safe than sorry. Given the smaller exhaust housing my logic here is more backpressure which means it can take less timing particulaly up top where I've pulled the most amount of timing out until I can get it on a dyno.

Also added 4% fueling in mid range section of maf scaling to account for earlier spool. Left the VE table unchanged but adjusted dbw table slightly to suit.

Response has definitely improved a few hundred rpm. Boost threshold is maybe 100-200rpm earlier. But boost comes on stronger earlier. By 4000rpm in 3rd gear I'm all in.

Also can spool up on the brake easier now. So should be fun to finally get a 1.7-1.8 60ft time wth this setup and go 11.3-11.5 quarter.

Will keep everyone updated

I have further great news

My surging / hesitation / lean out on spool up is all but gone

Added the factory dampener back onto the fuel feed line before the y block, and would you believe it - its almost all gone - as in 80% of the hesitation is gone

Will be adding a second dampener to the return line after the reg and I'm sure this will completely eliminate it.

Loving the car again, even though its not even optimized for the new housing with bugger all timing and rich as all hell

Will answer this question unequivocally once its retuned on the dyno, as the current tune is leaving alot on the table with me having pulled timing out and adding a heap of fueling in for safety

My bum dyno at this stage is telling me 100-200rpm for onset of boost (threshold), and 300-400 earlier for full boost (28psi)

I don't think threshold is going to improve much once retuned, but I can see full boost coming on 500-600rpm earlier once retuned.
