Converting B4 paddle shifts to music controls

Postby Leemanchew » Wed Nov 05, 2014 10:23 pm

As stated in the title I was wondering I anyone has potentially 're-wired' or thought about changing the b4 paddle shifts on the wheel to volume and track controls.

If so has anyone attempted and or succeeded with this. If not I'm going to try my luck soon haha.

Cheers any info would be amazing thanks.

Joycon interface is great (any button/resistor combo, but you need something for it to talk to, ideal if you have a nexus 7 isntall. I'm thinking that in the magical future where I have more time and money I'll grab a DAMD steering wheel, get some steering wheel buttons, and interface them to the N7. Joycon EXR install is pretty simple, but you do need a laptop to calibrate it first.

Edit: just had a thought - you could use a raspberry pi with the joycon interface and write some things to do arbitrary electrical things - but honestly at that point, you're better off using an arduino for the whole thing, rather than an computer/usb/etc. It's also a lot more complicated to do.

Does the op want to use the stock hu or aftermarket? If the latter then a dedicated module may be available. If not then joycon stereo button interface or similar, ditto if using a standalone music server of some description. Eg buttons > joycon > bt or usb > android phone tablet or mini pc...
