Remove Bonnet Fire Matting

I need to remove my bonnet scoop although can't get to the bolts due to the fire matting. Does anyone have any advice how to remove the matting. It seems to be held in with plastic lugs although it seems that removing the lugs will damage the matting.

Haven't done it myself but also bear in mind that the plastic clips are probably sacrificial - you may need to replace them with new ones when reattachiing.

did this today, just use a flat head screw driver to get it started then use your fingers to work and twist it out, should save these stupid clips and your insulating.

Trim removing tool will pop them out.
