You must have missed the persuasive language element in high school. Your statement comes across as if Phil recommended something wrong the first time. "He put his shit together with his recommended parts....(and now it's blown)...so screw his advice this time around" - not exactly neutral, to put it mildly.
This is called the implication of your choice of words. Not an assumption on my part.
You've definitely put down MSR before, when commenting about how many retunes Kido has to do for him. It seems you yourself like to talk about things you know very little about
owen wrote:Then you've assumed that the front mount was installed by RevZone. It wasn't. Alex bought a kit that didn't fit and all we did was fabricate some pipes that let it fit.
Ok, you win this one, but so what...?
owen wrote:Then you've assumed that my motor was fucked, and that I spent 6-10k to replace it. Lol. We have an STI in here that smashed a hole in his block. He needed a 2nd hand block for a fresh build, and having 160,000km on my EJ255, I was more than happy to do a swap for a brand new EJ257.
If you read my comment carefully - I said "considering it normally costs around 6-10k".... pointing out the effort required in swapping an engine for a newer one/major service etc. is fairly substantial. I never stated any assumptions about your own $$ expenses.
As for the engine, also not an assumption. I was directly told by Matt, still have the PM (and a few others who heard it from you) that you blokes diagnosed (apparently wrongly) your EJ255 with knock. Not surprisingly this version of the story actually makes sense while yours doesn't. If the STI guy had wanted a fresh base, he could have had one for very cheap. If your engine was without suspicion of being faulty - it would have stayed in your car.
You turned a shitty situation into a beneficial one for yourself, which is great. Just don't go on here and try and put a twist on it.
owen wrote:Whole affair working out well for me/Revzone? The only work Alex's car has had done with me is pipe fabrication and fitting a new turbo and catch can.
You certainly have your panties in a twist over something I was only asking about. I assume you don't like being attacked without basis. Perhaps in the future you'll refrain from doing so yourself first?
owen wrote:You should feel great about yourself now that you've wasted 10 mins of my life, you clearly have a lot more time to waste than I have. Over and out.
I assumed you were an adult and could decide how to spend your own time without blaming others for making you do things. Another assumption wrong, damn!
owen wrote:SO many assumptions.
I counted 2? It's ok. Sometimes big numbers overwhelm me too.
As for the frequency of kido libs getting engine rebuilds, I suppose you're right about it not being the studs or luck.
