Sad day, Liberty 2004 engine died

Hi everyone,

My beloved silver liberty has died. The engine which had done 200,000 kms must have had a slow oil leak.
The dashboard oil indicator never lit, but the knocking sound coming from the engine was a dead giveaway.

RACV confirmed and I bid farewell as it was towed from the house on Friday. It was towed to Innes motors service in Bendigo who confirmed that the engine will need to be replaced. I was holding off on getting a new set of tires until the next service, which would have been my next big spend.

My wife was keen to get a bigger car to fit our two kids, so we've already bought a second hand Mitsubishi outlander.
I'm very sad to part ways with the car but I can't afford to put any more money into it now.

When the moderators have deemed that I'm entitled to put it up for sale, I'll do so.

Possibly the auto transmission or some other part of the car might be worth something to someone or if someone is interested in bringing it back to life.

Anyway, hope this might be of interest to one of you, even if it's only as a tale of woe.
