I also want this - or better yet - pay someone in Melbourne to do it for me

I was able to work it out. First you need to root your nexus and install clockworkmod recovery. I found the best way to do this was to download android toolkit and use the 1 click For all function. Once this is done restart your nexus and go to google play and download rom manager by clockworkmod. Also download timurs rom straight on to the tab. Once downloaded go into the rom manager app and click install rom and select timurs rom from sd card.

Also you need to download the gapps for cyanogenmod 10.1 and flash that using rom manager the same way as you flashed timurs rom. Otherwise you will not have google play services

you now have timurs rom on your tab

Using this method on a 2012 WIFI model and after flashing timur's rom it just gets stuck on the USB-ROM CyanogenMod screen.

Can recover the device using the NEXUS toolkit. Any ideas on what i may be doing wrong?

Timurs is really old now! I use autodroid, which is a version of SlimKat 4.4.4...it works perfectly, has updated powereventtimer app (you can customize sleep timeout etc)

Been running this for a couple months now and seems heaps more solid than timurs was for me...uca202 work perfectly etc...

Hey so this is clearly a long running post but if anyone checks this I would love to know where I can get an OBD2 sensor. I have an MY07 lib so I am assuming it will work with a standard sensor, but none of the auto shops near me stock them, and none of the amazon or ebay listed items will ship to Melbourne. Is there some site that I can't find that caters for Australia??

This is the vendor I used...

Mini Auto Car V1.5 ELM327 OBD2 ODBII Bluetooth CAN BUS Scanner Tool ANDROID

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/190868683257 ... 1438.l2649

I've ditched ELM 327 and Torque for BtSsm.

See here too...

Thanks! I did just realise that I had ebay set to my American account which is why no one offered shipping to Australia (whoops), but I'll check out btssm thanks

No btSsm uses a dedicated OBDII to BT adaptor to transmit SSM data...
But please follow up in the btSsm threads...

DX have them for about $10.
Shipping is a mixed bag, but usually 2-3 weeks.

Order over $40 work of gear (easy enough to do) and shipping is free ;p

Tried ANOTHER OTG Y Cable. Now the USB DAC won't work and it still won't charge on the go.

I'm getting really frustrated with this. Considering just building all the charge cables myself and soldering all the joints instead of using USB

You can solve this problem by buying $20+ USB cables. I got my 5 pin usb right angle extension cable from some specialist place, and it was $25 or something stupid - but it works!
Even bench testing this crap it fails - a lot of USB cables are utter utter crap, it's not worth the aggravation, just bust out some decent money for good ones in the first place, and/or hack together your own stuff.

I completely understand this, given i purchased the Ergotron USB cable to get the gauge size as big as possible. but those OTG cables are so hard to find.

I'm using the standard cable that came with the tablet - which should/does have charging capabilities. It seems like it's always the female end of the OTG cable that is letting me down with regards to gauge size. As the female end looks small, then the male end which actually plugs into the tablet is large, but it's obviously got to get through the cores on the female end first, so if they're not large enough to carry the current, it's not going to work.

Have you got any suggestions for places to go either online or otherwise, to get me hands on cable that will be a big enough gauge to use?

Thanks mate, I've emailed them regarding a custom Y cable - Will see how it goes. It's my last resort. I can't understand why some people have this on constant charge and for others it doesn't seem to work. I've got hte rom setup properly, I'm sure of that. For now I'll have to keep removing the tablet to charge, I guess.
